Comments for the Week of May 22-26
  • Biggest winner this week: Alexander Muckle ($33,195) (May 22)
  • All 10 car games were lost this season. That's the first car game shutout in a 5-day week since the week of April 28-May 2 in Season 42.
  • Since four cars were won in the Showcase rounds this seasons, this week did not feature the fewest cars won this season. Only three cars were won during the weeks of October 3-7, January 2-6 and January 23-27.
  • Only 7 Pricing Games were fully won this week (and 6 games were partially won). That's the worst result since the Pricing Games went 6-24 during the week of April 28-May 2 in Season 42.
  • For the first time this season, no money was won in a playing of Pay the Rent. This was the game's fifth wipeout in the past four seasons, compared to 17 wipeouts between Seasons 39 and 41.
  • The following order has been a winning combination in all eight playings of Pay the Rent this season:
Mailbox: Third most expensive grocery product
First Floor: Second and third cheapest grocery products
Second Floor: Cheapest and the fifth most expensive grocery products
    Attic: Most expensive grocery product
  • Flip Flop was won for the 10th time this season - the sixth straight year where the game reached double digit wins. However, with a current record of 10-16, the game is currently having its worst season since it went 9-24 in Season 39.
  • The rangefinder in Range Game was stopped $99 away from the actual retail price of the trip to Madrid. That is the biggest miss in this game since April 2, 2014 ($114 away).
  • The most expensive price tag was right in Five Price Tags for the first time since April 8, 2015. While that drought ended, the drought of the third cheapest price tags continues - it was last right on April 30, 2010.
  • Five Price Tags was also played sixth for the for the first time since April 2, 2015.
  • Tuesday's episode ended a streak of eight straight episodes where the top winner passed the first Showcase. Overall, the first Showcase has been passed 61% of the time this season, which is slightly less than the rate of 69% between Season 29 and 45.
  • Shopping Spree was lost for the first time since October 9, 2015, which ended a 13 game winning streak for this game. That ended quite possibly the longest winning streak in the game's history. Prior to this streak, the longest winning streak since Season 30 was an eight game winning streak spanning Seasons 30 and 31.
  • The 2 of diamonds was drawn in Card Game for the first time since April 6, 2015. That leaves the Queen of clubs and the King of hearts as the only two cards than have not been drawn at least once in the past two seasons.
  • Overall, 45 out the 52 playing cards have been drawn at least once this season in Card Game. Card drawn least often: Only one queen has been drawn (the queen of hearts). Card drawn most often: A ten has been drawn 11 times.
  • Since Season 43, 5 out of the 6 losses in Shopping Spree occurred when contestants had to avoid picking the prize second from the left in order to win.
  • $13,596 in cash and prizes was won on Wednesday's episode, which is the lowest total since January 13, 2014 ($13,641).
  • All six Pricing Games played on Wednesday were lost or were only partially won AND the episode ended in a double overbid. (The $5,000 partial win in Hot Seat prevented a complete skunking.) That previous occurrence of such a dismal day was January 24, 2014. (A $10,000 Pay the Rent partial win prevented a complete skunking.) November 10, 2010 was the last time there was a complete skunking - all six games were lost and there was a double overbid. Only $7,311 was won on that episode.
  • The five grocery products used in Check-Out totalled $22.25, which is the highest total since June 11, 2013 ($22.70).
  • The $9,627 hot tub and bar set was the most expensive prize offered in Freeze Frame since April 28, 2011 (a $9,992 hot tub). $9,627 is tied for the most expensive prize offered in a year other than Season 39. Season 39 tried to blow the bank by offering five prizes worth more than $9,627.
  • $31,500 has set the record for the most cash ever won in a single playing of Plinko. It was only the second time where the center slot was hit three times in the same playing since its value was increased to $10,000 in Season 27.
  • At least $10,000 has now been won in 13 out of 22 playings of Plinko this season. The 59% is poised to be the highest success rate since at least Season 29. The current high is Season 36, with 18 out of 33 $10,000+ winners (55%).
  • Grocery Game was won for the fifth time this season, which is a very nice improvement over last season's 0-9 record. With a 5-4 record, the game has a chance to finish above .500 for only the fourth time since Season 29. (Season 29: 7-6, Season 36: 10-9, Season 41: 4-1).
  • In all five of Grocery Game's wins this season, the contestant's total was between $21 and $22. In other words, if the old $20-$21 range had been maintained, the game would be winless for the second straight season.
  • Secret "X" was won for the tenth time this season, which is the most wins for this game since at least Season 29. This season's 77% win rate (10-3) is also the best record since at least Season 29.
  • So far this season, 43 contestants have passed the first Showcase even though it offered a car. Out of these 43 occurrences, 27 episodes ended up offering a car in the second Showcase. (The success rate last season was 12 out of 38.)
  • Out of the 29 perfect bids this season, 7 were by the first bidder, 12 were by the second bidder, 6 were by the third bidder and 4 were by the fourth bidder.
