Comments for the Week of December 29-January 2
  • Biggest winner this week: Dana Ness ($39,485) (December 31)
  • On Monday, That's Too Much! became the first Pricing Game to be lost 10 times this season. The constant losses are nothing new for this game - That's Too Much! had the most losses in Season 38 (28 losses), Season 39 (31 losses) AND Season 40 (29 losses). The game also had the second most losses in Season 42 (25 losses).
  • Also on Monday, William was only $318 away from the actual retail price of his Showcase. That's the closest difference for a non-Double Showcase winner since February 13 of last season ($309). (Since Season 40, the closest difference is $266 on November 5, 2013.)
  • On Tuesday, a contestant bid $1 under a previous bidder twice (in the third and fourth one bid rounds). That has not happened since at least Season 39.
  • Also on Tuesday, Mary Ellen, with Drew's help, spun $1.00 in the Showcase Showdown. That's the first time since at least Season 40 where a contestant has won money in a Drew-aided spin.
  • Tuesday's second Showcase Showdown was the first Showdown this season where the wheel was only spun the minimum three times (none of the contestants took their second spin).
  • On Friday, Hole in One was lost for the first time this season. That snapped a five game winning streak dating back to October 7, 2013.
  • Drew also made his putt for the fifth time in his hosting career on Friday's episode. In those five playings, three contestants went on to win the car.
  • Also on Friday, Shirley, the first spinner in the Showcase Showdown, initially decided to spin again with 70 cents, but quickly changed her mind. Incidentally, in the past three seasons, the first spinner has only won 7 out of 42 Showcase Showdowns when they get 70 cents on their first spin. (No contestant during this span ever spun again with 70 cents.)
  • Including Friday's episode, 15 contestants have passed a Showcase that included a car. In three of those episodes, a car wound up also being offered in the second Showcase. (Last season, that happened in 10 out of 40 Showcases were a car Showcases was passed to the runner-up).
  • During the six one bid rounds on Friday's episode, contestants bid $1 above a previous bidder eight separate times. That's the most one-upping in a single episode this season. (Previous high: 7 on December 24)
Comments for the Week of January 5-9
  • Biggest winners this week: Beverly Green ($60,130) (January 6) (the seventh $60,000+ winner this season)
Ma Ghina Lorca ($59,877) (January 5)
  • On Tuesday, Stack the Deck was won for the first time this season. The win snapped a 17 game losing streak dating back to October 14 of last season.
  • This was only the fourth time (and the first time since May 2, 2008) where Stack the Deck was won even though the contestant didn't get all three free numbers. The win improved the overall record under these conditions to 4-80. (Conversely, Stack the Deck is 15-13 when contestants get all three grocery product pairings right.)
  • Also on Tuesday, hole #23 (row 3, column 3) was selected in Punch a Bunch for the first time since March 31, 2010. Until this week, hole #23 had gone the longest without being punched. That honor now belongs to hole #30 (row 3, column 10) (June 3, 2010).
  • Punch a Bunch was also played fourth this week for the first time since June 27, 2013.
  • On Wednesday, Shell Game was won even though Daniel only won one chip. Since Season 29, 7 contestants have only gotten one small prize right in this game. Only two of these contestants went on to win the prize. (This week and the January 19, 2007 playing.)
  • Also on Wednesday, Check-Out was played for a car for the first time since September 30, 2013 and was played second for the first time since September 25, 2009.
  • Flip Flop was lost on Wednesday's episode, which snapped a five game winning streak for this game dating back to November 7.
  • On Friday, That's Too Much! was won for the first time since October 1, snapping a nine game losing streak for this game.
  • Previous time That's Too Much! was won when contestants had to stop at the seventh price in order to win: February 8, 2011. (Since Season 32, That's Too Much! is 5-45 when the seventh price is too much. Surprisingly, stopping at the eighth price has a slightly better record: 9-51)
  • Also on Friday, Switch? was lost for the first time since December 22, which snapped a six game winning streak for this game.
  • Tamitra overbid on her Showcase in Friday's episode by a mere $29. That was the smallest overbid of the season and the smallest since February 14 of last season ($22).
  • Stack the Deck and That's Too Much! were won in the same week for the first time since the week of February 7-11 in Season 39.
  • Overall, since Stack the Deck premiered in Season 35, That's Too Much! and Stack the Deck have been played in the same week 86 times. Both games were won in only 6 of those weeks (twice in Season 35, twice in Season 36, once in Season 39, once in Season 43).
  • By being played sixth on Monday and third on Wednesday, Squeeze Play and Flip Flop became the seventh and eighth Pricing Games to be played in all six slots this season, respectively. Flip Flop has achieved this mark for the eighth straight season; Squeeze Play was only played in five of six slots last season.
  • With Most Expen$ive getting a few weeks off, we now have a 5-way tie for Pricing Games vying for the title of "most frequently played game in Season 43". Flip Flop, Money Game, Most Expen$ive, Squeeze Play and That's Too Much! have all been played 12 times so far this season. Out of these 5 games, Flip Flop and Most Expen$ive have the best record (9-3) while That's Too Much! has the worst record (2-10).
Comments for the Week of January 12-16
  • Biggest winners this week: Kristian Steel ($36,198) (January 14)
    Jay Tilva ($36,128) (January 13)
  • On Monday, Hans was on Step #25 in Cliff Hangers with one small prize to go. Previous times the mountain climber has been in that predicament: December 19, 2006 and June 16, 2011. In these three playings, only the December 19, 2006 playing wound up being won (the contestant got the third small prize exactly right).
  • Two cars were offered on Monday's second Showcase. That was the first two-car Showcase since March 20, 2013. (An episode featuring pairs of siblings.)
  • Last time a two-car Showcase was won: February 14, 2013.
  • On Tuesday, Pick-a-Pair was lost for the fourth time this season. Pick-a-Pair has now been lost nine times in the past two seasons. By comparison, the game was lost only nine times in Seasons 38-41. (Since season 29, the record for the most losses for this game is 6 in each of seasons 36 and 37.)
  • Also on Tuesday, Katherine spelled "CAR" in Spelling Bee with just three cards. Since Season 32, that has happened three other times: October 24, 2003 (found all three letters), May 10, 2010 (found all three letters), March 6, 2012 (found a "CAR" card).
(During this span, none of the contestants that quit with only three cards had managed to spell "CAR".)
  • On Wednesday, Harold only rolled two cars in Let 'em Roll. Since Season 32, that's the fewest cars rolled in this game (excluding bailouts), tying the October 7, 2005 and December 19, 2012 playings.
  • The win in Most Expen$ive on Thursday was the 200th full Pricing Game win this season. (This stat does not include $10,000+ partial Plinko wins.)
  • The overall Pricing Game winning percentage is currently 45.4%, which is significantly ahead of last year's mark of 42.7%. If it holds, it would also be the best record since Season 36 (46.8%)
  • There were three perfect bids in Friday's one bid rounds. That was the fifth 3-$500 day since the start of Season 29. The most recent occcurence was April 23, 2013.
  • Joni (the first spinner) won Friday's second Showcase Showdown win a score of 50 cents. That ties the October 14 episode for the lowest winning score for a contestant spinning first this season.
(In the past three seasons, no contestant spinning first has won with a score of less than 50 cents.)
  • This week, Switch? and Most Expen$ive became the first two Pricing Games to be won 10 times this season. At this pace, Switch? will reach 20 wins for the sixth time in the past eight seasons and Most Expen$ive will reach 20 wins for the first time since at least Season 29 (current high during this span: 19 wins in Season 41).
Comments for the Week of January 19-23

  • After starting the season at 5-0, Double Cross was lost for the first time this season on Monday's episode. Double Cross had last been lost on June 18, 2014.
  • With the loss in Double Cross, that leaves Bullseye (5-0), Now....or Then (3-0) and 2 for the Price of 1 (3-0) as the only Pricing Games that still have perfect records this season.
  • At $1,375, the game table was the cheapest prize ever offered in Double Cross. (Previous low: A $1,475 washer & dryer offered on September 24, 2012.)
  • The families on Monday's episode were very polite - for only the third time this season no one bid $1 above a previous bidder in the bidding rounds.
  • On Tuesday, Double Prices was lost for the first time since October 16, 2014, which snapped a six game winning streak for this game.
  • Also on Tuesday, Make Your Move was played sixth for the first time since June 5, 2013.

  • On Friday, William lost Pocket ¢hange despite accumulating $1.35 - the highest losing total since June 26, 2013 ($1.55). (The current record is $1.60 from the May 14, 2009 playing.)
  • Out of the 22 Showcase Showdowns this season, 8 contestants have won the spin-off with a score of less than 50 cents. The lowest winning score was 35 cents on October 9, November 4 and December 12.

    • Both Showcases on Wednesday's episode totalled $44,689. Combined, those were the two cheapest Showcases offered in an episode this season.
    • With a difference of $1,155, Thursday's episode featured the third closest Showcase result of the season.
    • At $309, Carol had the third smallest Showcase overbid on Friday's episode.
Comments for the Week of January 26-30
  • Biggest winner this week: Margarida Binns ($39,642) (January 26)
  • Pricing Game streaks snapped this week:
    • The top prize was won in the Time i$ Money for the first time since the game returned to the Pricing Game rotation. Less than $20,000 (or $200,000) had been won in the game's previous eight playings.
    • Danger Price was won for the first time this season (improving its record to 1-4), snapping a five game losing streak dating back to April 24, 2014.

    • Gas Money was won for the first time this season (improving its record to 1-5), snapping a 15 game losing streak dating back to December 30, 2013.
  • After Gas Money's win, there remains three games that do not have a full win or a partial win this season - Line em Up (0-4), Pathfinder (0-5) and Triple Play (0-2).
  • With the exception of Triple Play (and Plinko), every single Pricing Game has now been fully won within the past 365 days. (After Triple Play, Step Up has gone the longest without being fully won - April 2, 2014).
  • For the first time since June 18, 2012, all six one bid rounds on Tuesday's episode were won by the contestant bidding last.
  • Only $342 separated both bidders in Tuesday's Showcase round. That was the closest Showcase result of the season.
  • On Thursday, Drew sank his second inspiration of the season. This is the first time Drew has made more than one putt in a single season.
  • Also on Thursday, Michelle told Drew that her grandfather won a bumper pool table on the Price is Right back in 1989. It appears that current contestants won't get the opportunity to win such a fantastic prize, as the last time a bumper pool table was offered on the show was November 24, 2008.
  • By being played second and fourth on Thursday, Pick-a-Number and Side By Side became the ninth and tenth Pricing Games to be played in all six slots at least once this season. Both games have achieved this feat for the second straight season.
  • Both of the "then" products in Friday's playing of Now...or Then appeared on the Price is Right back in March 2003 (the "Then" date). In fact, both the cat litter and the pain reliever were used on the March 4, 2003 playing of Pass the Buck.
  • In the past two seasons, Now....or Then has a record of 13-1, and has been played perfectly in 7 of those wins.
  • For the 11th time this season, more than $100,000 in cash and prizes was won on Friday's episode. At this pace, we could easily surpass the number of $100,000+ episodes achieved in the previous four seasons (15 in Season 42, 12 in Season 41, 17 in Season 40 and 18 in Season 39.)
  • Only five one-prize games were played this week (Flip Flop, Squeeze Play, Freeze Frame, Pick-a-Number, Side By Side) - the fewest played in a 5-day week since the week of June 2-6 in Season 42.
  • So far this season, 10 different non-car games have been played for a car. That's already more than last season. (Nine different non-car games were played for cars in Season 42.) Unfortunately, much like last seasons, these games have predominantly been lost (2-9 in Season 42, 3-7 in Season 43).
Comments for the Week of February 2-6
  • Biggest winner this week: Jacqueline Vu ($55,721) (February 2)
  • On Monday, 5/6 one bids were won by contestants at the yellow podium. That's the most wins for one podium in one episode since June 25 of last season.
  • Also on Monday, Mark picked three dimes in Pocket ¢hange. Surprisingly, that has happened before - most recently on the February 16, 2011 episode. However, unlike Monday's episode, in that previous playing, the contestant found $2 with their fourth card and won the car.
  • Monday's episode also featured a Rat Race won by the yellow rat. That snapped a 15 race losing streak for the yellow rat, dating back to July 4, 2013.
  • On Wednesday, Deborah lost the car in Card Game by a mere $61. That's the closest loss in this game since a $5 loss on the January 17, 2007 episode.
  • Wednesday's playing of Card Game was also the first time since at least Season 32 where a contestant kept drawing cards even after assigning a value to an ace.
  • Also on Wednesday, Holly stopped the bottom of the rangefinder $390 from the bottom of the scale. That's the highest placement of the rangefinder since at least Season 32. (Previous high: $322 from the bottom on December 13, 2010)
  • With 5 cents being spun in a bonus spin on Wednesday's episode (the second $11,000 Showcase Showdown win of the season), contestants have now landed on every single amount in a bonus spin at least once this season, except 85 cents. (At 7 times, 45 cents has been spun most often this season.)
  • Wednesday's episode also featured the 50th bonus spin of the season. We are currently on pace to have 104 dollar spinners this season, which would be very close to what was achieved last season (100 $1,000+ winners).
  • Thursday's playing on Bullseye likely featured the most expensive grocery product ever used in this game ($10.99 K-Cups) and the first known instance where picking only one of a product would have hit the target. Prior to this playing, the most expensive product used was $6.00 bath spray on the May 21, 2010 episode.
  • Only 1 punch was won in Friday's playing of Punch a Bunch. Last time that's happened: June 25, 2010.
  • Since Drew became host, contestants have won only one Punch 10 times. Cash winnings in those 10 playings: $50 (3 times), $100 (4 times), $500 (once), $1,000 (twice).
  • Squeeze Play was won for the 10th time this season on Friday's episode. With a current record of 10-5, Squeeze Play is well on its way to having a winning record for the first time since at least Season 29. (During this span, its best season was Season 42, where the game went 17-17.)
  • By being played sixth on Thursday and second on Friday, Freeze Frame and Punch a Bunch became the 11th and 12th Pricing Games to be played in all six slots at least once this season, respectively. That is by far the lowest winning score for a contestant spinning first in the past three seasons. • For the first time in the game's history, a contestant got all five numbers wrong in Thursday's playing of Stack the Deck.
  • On Friday, Balance Game was played for a car for the 10th time in its history. Unfortunately, the game only has a record of 2-8 when it has been played for a car.

  • Nine one-prize games were played this week and these nine games went 7-2 (Coming or Going, Squeeze Play, Range Game, Pick-a-Number, Side By Side, Bonkers, Flip Flop, Push Over and Balance Game).
