30th Season
Primetime Special
From Las Vegas

(Thursday, January 31st)

Set: More or less the same as the daytime version, except that there are two turnables. There is one to the left, right next to Door #1 (there is no space between them like in the daytime version). The other one is to the right of Door #3. Only the right turntable turns. There was also a video screen on the far right. However, it was never used during the show. It was mostly for the audience (such as to list the name of the contestant that was called to Contestant's Row).

 Comments

*This was a great show. Sure, it would have been nice to have a car as an IUFB, to play Plinko for $100,000 or to have a $100,000+ showcase. Sure, it was more or less a carbon copy of the season premiere. Sure, it sort of seemed like they wanted to get the primetime special over with so people would stop asking them to do one. Sure, they played very few clips. Sure, the clips they did show have been played hundreds of times before. However, I think it was the uniqueness of the show that made this episode so special. Who would have thought that TPIR would ever go on the road? Who would have thought we'd see an episode with 1,200 people in the audience? Who would have thought we would see Price is primetime again? Who would have thought we'd see an episode with spotlights, a jib cam and a glitzier set... with Bob as host?
*Only 2 pricing games were won tonight.
*Triple Play & It's in the Bag: Extremely easy.
*Squeeze Play: Pretty easy as well.
*One Away: Jason was too smart for his own good. He thought the last digit was 2. They'd do that in the daytime version, but not in a primetime special.
*The Big Wheel seemed a lot looser than normal today.
*Today's show was brought to you by Chevrolet (all 5 cars were Chevrolet models).
*Why weren't the small prizes in Plinko extremely simple like they were for the 25th Primetime Special?
*You know it's a primetime special when Dolphins & Friends are used!
*Why does One Away always get to be played for more expensive cars than usual? What's wrong with Dice Game or Money Game?
