Comments for the Week of September 23-27
  • Biggest winner this week: Anna Taylor ($60,013) (September 25)
  • On Monday, Coming or Going was played for the first time ever on a season premiere episode (or on the first aired episode of a season).
  • With the win on Monday, Do the Math snapped a streak of three straight games being lost on their premiere playing (Rat Race, Pay the Rent and Double Cross were all lost on their first playing).
  • On Tuesday, Cliff Hangers was lost on the first small prize. Previous time that happened: March 20, 2011.
  • On Wednesday, 10 Chances was played sixth for only the third time since Season 29. (It was also played sixth on May 27, 2009 and June 8, 2012).
  • Only 1 out of 22 Plinko chips landed in the center slot on Friday's episode (4.55%). By comparison, the success rate in the previous 5 seasons was: Season 37 (11.36%), Season 38 (16.87%), Season 39 (12.64%), Season 40 (20.00%), Season 41 (10.43%)
  • Plinko is currently on pace to be played 228 times this season, which would translate to over $600,000 in total cash winnings for this game this season. For some reason, I doubt that pace will hold...
Comments for the Week of September 30-October 4
  • Biggest winner this week: Debbie Guedea ($45,920) (October 1)
  • Line em Up has now been won six straight times (and in 11 of the past 12 occurences) when contestants failed to get at least one number right on their first try. Last loss under these conditions: August 26, 2010.
  • On Tuesday, Ladora missed the target in all three of her tries in Bullseye. Last time that happened: Money January 22, 2001.
  • Wednesday's Stack the Deck was the 15th time a contestant asked the host to reveal the first number in the price of the car. In those 15 playings, only two contestants wound up winning the car (October 24, 2006 and February 19, 2007)
  • Since the start of Season 41, the spread between both prizes in Magic # has been at least $1,836, with the spread exceeding $2,500 in 7 playings. Not surprisingly, Magic # has a record of 9-2 during this span.
  • $21,100 was won in Plinko on Friday - the most since $21,500 was won on April 9, 2012. (However, the center slot was increased to $20,000 in that playing, so it's really the most won in a "traditional" Plinko playing since $21,500 was won on August 27, 2010.)
  • Out of the 10 Pricing Games that have been played at least two times this season, Flip Flop (2-0) is the only game that is still undefeated.
  • All 10 Showcase rounds this season have been won by female contestants.

  • The $14,956 Chevrolet Spark, offered in Tuesday's One Away, was the cheapest car offered in One Away since at least Season 30.
  • The six one bids on Wednesday's episode totalled $4,157 - the lowest total since April 28, 2011.
  • Based on the available information, Lucky $even was played for the 1300th time in daytime history on Thursday.

Comments for the Week of October 14-18
  • Biggest winners this week: Cassidy Schlitz ($140,236) (2nd biggest winner in daytime history), Jeune Brown ($57,577)
  • $172,382 in cash and prizes was won on Monday's episode - the fourth highest daily total in daytime history.
(The most won in one episode was $297,708 on the 35th Season premiere.)
  • Also on Monday, Stack the Deck was played perfectly and was won for the first time since December 19, 2011, snapping a 22 game losing streak (or 23 based on actual airdates). December 19, 2011 was also the previous time a contestant earned all three free numbers in this game.
  • Stack the Deck was the only car game won this week. Surprisingly (considering how rarely the game is won), that's not the first time that's happened. It was also the only car game won on the weeks of September 20-24 (late airing) in Season 39 and March 30-April 3 in Season 37.
  • On Tuesday, Dice Game was lost despite the contestant rolling two exact numbers. Previous time that happened: December 7, 2011.
  • Both of the "then" products in Wednesday's playing of Now.. or Then appeared on the Price is Right back in (or around) May 2001: the Alka-Seltzer was used on a playing of Hi Lo on May 21 and the Hidden Valley dressing was used on a playing of Bullseye on June 6.
  • On Thursday, the most expensive price was right for the second car in Triple Play. Previous time that's happened: December 6, 2007 - a streak of 10 playings (when contestants got to at least the second car) where the right price was the lowest or middle price.
  • Overall, $133,000 in cash and cars were won in the five "Big Money" games this week, an improvement over the $103,600 won last season.
  • The Pricing Games continue to struggle to find consistent wins in the early part of this season. Out of all of the games that have been played at least twice, Side by Side (2-0) is the only game that has not yet been lost.
Comments for the Week of October 21-25
  • Biggest winner this week: Robert Bivin ($56,180) (October 23)
  • In Monday's 1 Wrong Price There was only a $196 difference between the wrong price ($604) and the right price ($800) for the foosball table. That's the smallest gap used in this game since at least Season 32.
  • The pink rat finished fourth on Monday's Rat Race, which was only the third time in the past three seasons where it failed to finish a race in the top three.
  • The contestants were very competitive on Monday's episode - they bid $1 above a previous bidder six different times in Contestant's Row.
  • On Wednesday, a car was won in Pass the Buck for the first time since December 26, 2011. That snapped a 16 game losing streak for this game.
  • The car and $3,000 cash was also the most won in Pass the Buck since December 1, 2010 (Car & $5,000 - this playing is tied for the biggest win in this game - no contestant has ever won more than the car and $5,000 cash).
  • Check Game has now been lost four straight times since it returned to the Pricing Game rotation. Overall, Check Game has a record of 3-11 since the winning range was modified to $7,000-$8,000.
  • On Thursday's Gas Money, the price of the car was the middle price out of the five price tags. That's only been the case seven times since the game debuted. The car was not won in all seven of those playings.
  • Gas Money, Pick-a-Number and Shopping Spree were all played on both the October 10 and the October 24 episodes.
  • That's Too Much! was played in all three "Salute to Teachers" episodes. Friday's playing was the first time a teacher won the car in this game in these teachers specials.
  • So far this season, more cash has been won in Money Game ($352) than has been won in Grand Game ($201).
(Excluding the Publishers Clearing House bonus.)
Comments for the Week of October 28-November 1
  • Biggest winner this week: David Wimmmmberley ($44,670) (October 31)
  • On Monday, all four prizes were won in Step Up for the first time since March 14, 2012. That snapped a streak of five playings where Step Up was lost or was only partially won. Overall, Monday's playing was the eighth complete win in Step Up's history.
  • Plinko was played for the 10th time this season on Monday, which is by far the most playings for any Pricing Game (Lucky $even is the next closest with 7 playings). Based on the available information, Plinko is now 28 appearances away from being played for the 1000th time in daytime. At this pace, Plinko has a chance of reaching this mark before the end of the season.
  • The increase in Plinko playings has not resulted in an increase in cash winnings. An average of $4,250 has been won in the 10 playings this season (assuming there were only the usual cash prizes on the Plinko board during the Plinko anniversary special), which would be the lowest average since at least Season 29.
  • On Tuesday, Dorothy failed to get the Big Wheel all the way around even after she received help from Drew. I believe that's the first time a Drew-aided spin did not count.
  • Also on Tuesday, Mitchell overbid on his Showcase by a mere $5 - the smallest overbid since a $2 overbid on the November 7, 2007 episode.
  • On Thursday, Mary won Yucky $even with $2 to spare. That's only happened three other times since the start of Season 38.
  • The last time there was a more impressive Lucky $even win? February 27, 2009, when the game was won with $3 to spare.
  • Out of the past seven Halloween themed episodes:
    • Biggest winner: Ashley Quadros ($60,158) (October 29, 2010)
    • Most frequently played Pricing Game: Double Prices (4 times)
    • 3 episodes featured more than one small prize game.
    • Punch a Bunch was played three times and $5,000, $10,000 and $5,000 in cash was won in those three playings.
    • 7 cash games were played and $48,100 in cash was won in those seven playings.
    • The only car games won was Push Over on October 31, 2008 and Yucky $even on October 31, 2013.
    • At least four Pricing Games were lost (or were only partially won) in all seven episodes.
